It's the Small Things | Monterey

"Excellence is in the details. Give attention to the details and excellence will come." ~ Perry Paxton

For us, life is about authencity, love and excellence. And we thrive on details - seeking out, capturing and savoring.

From Monterey earlier this year ... [bonus points if you can spot the image with a teensy weensy upside down stop sign]

It's the Small Things | Blue Sky

If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive. ~ Eleonora Duse

It's hard to say if we became  photographers because of the way we see our world, or whether we see our world because we are photographers. Probably a little of each.

Capturing even the small things allows us to savor them again and again and remind us of the life in our souls.

We rarely leave home without our cameras. Backing out of the garage on our way to dinner, the pink glow reflected on our black hood. It begged to be shot. Car stopped in the middle of the street, I opened the door, raised the camera, and shot. What a magnificent creation!

It's the Small Things - Morning in Laguna

Our true home is in the present moment. To live in the present moment is a miracle. The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green Earth in the present moment. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

All things color and texture delight our senses. Sharing a few morning small pleasures ...

Golden Companions - It's the Small Things

Silhouettes produce an interesting phenomenon. Have you ever noticed that when you can't see details, and only an outline is visible, sometimes it actually gives you a clearer picture of what you see? We have decided it's because it allows one to mentally fill in the details based on one's innate intuition and experience.

Our home is surrounded by equestrian trails more foot-friendly than sidewalks for Paul's frequent runs. The elliptical machines as 24 Hour Fitness keeps my fitness level (and feet) happy, so this evening I walk behind as P and cirina run to the top of this hill. When they pause for me to catch up, I expose my shot to capture their loving bond.

George Eliot must have known how much we love our Golden girl, when he wrote, "We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Heaven has accorded this to us in the uncritical canine attachment."
